Cutty (the "App") is a video editing app provided by Iakov Domnitski, individual entrepreneur, registered in Georgia by the National Agency of Public Registry on 27 April 2022 (identification number 305528621), legal address: 6 Otkhi Atasi Meskhi St, Block B, Apt 601, Dighomi, Saburtalo District, Tbilisi, Georgia. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean Iakov Domnitski. We are responsible (the "controller") for the personal data described here.

Account identifiers. Cutty requires Sign in with Apple. The App also creates a random device identifier and we assign a random user ID. From Sign in with Apple we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email (which may be an Apple private relay address). Our server stores these with your account, together with the time you last signed in and a token from Apple that lets us revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account. We use identifiers to give you an account and keep your projects together.
Videos and photos you choose. Only the media you select in the App is uploaded, including its audio. We use it to make previews, drafts and exports of your edit.
Text you provide. Project names, titles, captions, instructions you give the editing assistant (Ask) and Moments search words.
Moments. Moments clips are cut and kept on your device. To describe a clip, the App sends a few small still frames from it to our server, which passes them to OpenAI; we keep the resulting caption, tags and search vectors, not the frames.
Fonts and styles. Fonts you upload and title styles you save are stored with your account.
AI consent. When you agreed to AI processing and which version of the notice you saw.
Transcripts and edit data. Transcripts of the speech in your videos, the edit decisions (chapters, cuts, titles, captions) and rendered drafts.
Subscription status. When you subscribe, the App sends us the signed App Store transaction so we can unlock Cutty Pro. It contains the product, dates and transaction IDs, but no payment card data.
Data kept only on your device. Editing preferences (for example caption style), local copies of your projects, and the App's local trial reminder.
We do not collect your location or contacts, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Our server. Projects and media are stored and processed on servers operated for us by DigitalOcean in Frankfurt, Germany. All traffic between the App and our server uses HTTPS (TLS).
AI processing by OpenAI. Only after you tap Allow on the "How Cutty uses AI" notice, and only for the AI features you use:
Your full videos are not sent to OpenAI. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models; OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring (audio sent for transcription is not kept). Nothing is sent to OpenAI until you tap Agree and continue. To withdraw your consent, delete your account in the App (section 7): processing stops and your data is deleted as described there.
Apple. Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscription management are provided by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Where the EU/UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract), and to keep the service secure and answer support requests (legitimate interests). Notification reminders are scheduled only with your permission.
We keep your projects, media and transcripts until you delete them or your account. Accounts created before Sign in with Apple became required (guest accounts) are kept on the same terms and are linked to your Apple account when you sign in on that device. Subscription records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection), you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to or restrict its processing. Email us to exercise these rights; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We are based in Georgia, our server is in Germany, and OpenAI and Apple may process data in the USA. Where required, these transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Cutty is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
The App asks for Photos access to let you pick videos and save exported videos, and for notification permission only to remind you before a free trial ends. Notifications are scheduled on your device; no push token is sent to us.
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For significant changes we will also tell you in the App.
